On June 1st, the president of our university Zheng Youliang and John Manas, the agricultural minister of CSIRO, signed a cooperation agreement. Both sides will cooperate in the field of agricultural research, teacher and student exchanges, information exchange, and jointly establishing the international cooperation research center in crop genetic resources and genetic improvement etc.

Since 2007 we have sent 12 students to CSIRO for joint training, who have shown their strength in publishing high-level papers and joining in research projects. Some of them have been recruited by our university after graduation. Since 2007329 people in our university have been sent to study abroad sponsored by government. Our joint-training students have published over 200 high-level papers such as one inNanoToday, onein PANS, oneinCell Plant and two in Molecular Biology and Evolution.

The international cooperation research center in crop genetic resources and genetic improvement is a platform for international cooperation, based on the present key national laboratory of Ministry of Education and Ministry of Agriculture supported by our university, in cooperation with Australian Department of science and industry, University of California, Davis, and International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center etc.. The center has formed a certain scale in research platform and talent training and has a great influence at home and abroad.
