International Economics and Trade

1. Objectives:

The program is taught in English. The students should master the basic theories of economics and international trade; they also should be familiar with the development and trade policies of different countries under WTO rules. The students will have good abilities of communication, coordination, innovation and entrepreneurship after graduation, and can be adapted to the economic globalization.


2. Training requirements:

The students mainly study the basic theories and basic knowledge of international economics and trade; accept the basic training of international economic and trade practices; and will have excellent quality structure, ability structure and knowledge structure.

Microeconomics ,Macroeconomics, Accounting, Statistics, International Economics, International trade theory and policy, Practice of International Trade, Principles of Management, International Business Negotiation, Principles of Finance.

7. Qualification of Applicants

(1) The qualified applicant aged between 18 and 25, in good physical and mental health, and awarded a certificate of graduation from senior high school.

(2) Good English language proficiency: IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 75

Scholarship Applicants: December 15, 2017 to May 15, 2018

Self-supporting Applicants: December 15, 2017 to June 1, 2018

9. Application Procedure

Step 1: Online Application

Step 2: Documents Submission online

(1) Application Form for International Students with signature

(2) Scholarship Application Form with signature

(3) Original or notarized photocopies of senior high school certificate and transcripts. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

(4) For applicants who will be graduating from senior high school (University) in July should provide the Pre-graduation Certificate. Original graduation certificate should be submitted after admission.

(5) English Language Proficiency certificate (IELTS, TOFEL)

(6) Personal information page of passport, for applicants in China the visa page is also required.

(7) For applicants under the age of 18 on Registration Day, a notarization of guarantors in China is required. The guardian of the student has to be living in Sichuan at present. Whatever the guardian's nationality is, he or she must have a source of income.

(8) Resume/CV and study plan in China

(9) Other supporting materials including sports, arts and other relevant awards and certificates to show your talent, transcripts of college entrance examination in home country, admission notice from well-known foreign universities, etc.

Note: 1) In addition to the above application materials, the university may require applicant to provide supplementary materials, depending on the circumstances.

2) The application is invalid if the application materials are incomplete.

Two ways to pay application fee (non-refundable): RMB 600 (or U.S. Dollar 90 for overseas payment)

10. Interview

Students are required to attend a video or telephone interview at a specified time, or to provide a short video of up to 5 minutes, covering English self-introduction, willingness to study in China, etc.

11. Scholarship

Qualified applicants will be awarded scholarships for the project on a tuition-free basis (¥16,000/year). In addition, living allowances will be granted to those who perform well in each semester examination, ranging from ¥700 to ¥1400 per month.

13. Accommodation Reservation

On-campus rooms can only be reserved for those who have successfully applied on line. There is a bathroom, broadband internet access, furniture for each room in the student apartment. There are also water boilers, laundry services and public showers in the apartment.

Those who fail to apply for the dorm on line need to find the accommodation off campus by themselves.

14. Inquiry and Admission Notice

The applicants who pass the evaluation by Sichuan Agricultural University International Student Admission Committee will be finally admitted. The International Office will send email to admitted students and the applicants may check admission status via the Online Application System.

15. Registration

Students shall come to International Students Office for registration during the dates indicated on the Admission Notice. Students must enter China with ordinary passport, X1 visa, and must apply for Residence Permit within 30 days after arrival in China.
