Conditions of Written Test Exemption for Undergraduate Programs 2016

 

The applicants with high scores of SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test), IB (International Baccalaureate) or A-Level (General Certificate of Education Advanced Level) may apply for exemption from the written test of entrance exam, the conditions of which are listed below:

1. SAT

(1)  The majors/programs in science, engineering, economics and management require:

(a) SAT I: total score≥1900, Critical Reading≥550, Writing≥550, Mathematics≥600;

(b) SAT II: at least three subjects including Mathematics II, Physics and others relevant to the majors applied for. Each subject should be graded no lower than 600.

(2)  The majors/programs in liberal arts require:

(a) SAT I: total score≥1900, Critical Reading≥550, Writing≥600, Mathematics≥550;

(b) SAT II: at least three subjects, and each subject should be graded no lower than 600. The applicants for Experimental Class of Social Sciences should have Mathematics II.

2. IB

(1)  The majors/programs in science, engineering, economics and management require:

(a) IB Diploma;

(b) At least three HL subjects and three SL subjects. HL Mathematics, HL Physics and English should be included and graded no lower than 6;

(c) Total score≥35.

(2)  The majors/programs in liberal arts require:

(a) IB Diploma;

(b) At least three HL subjects and three SL subjects. English should be included and graded no lower than 6;

(c) The applicants for Experimental Class of Social Sciences should have SL Mathematics;

(d) Total score≥32.

3. A-Level

(1)  The majors/programs in science, engineering, economics and management require:

(a) At least three subjects;

(b) Mathematics should be graded A, and Physics graded B or above;

(c) Other subjects should be relevant to the majors applied for and graded B or above.

(2) The majors/programs in liberal arts require:

(a) At least three subjects;

(b) English should be graded A, and others graded B or above;

(c) The applicants for Experimental Class of Social Sciences should have Mathematics.
