Discussions held between the college of Economics and Management, SAU and Nottingham Food Economics in relation to the future International Exchange and Collaboration

Follow on the visit of The University of Nottingham to Sichuan Agriculture University, several meetings were held during March 30th and 31st 2011, between the college of Economics and Management, SAU and Nottingham Food Economics (“NFE”) to promote future cooperation between the two parties. Professor John Strak of the NFE, the Senior Development Manager Mr David Park from the faculty of Development Office, Notthingham, the vice-Chancellor of SAU Mr Shuguang Wang,  the Dean of the college of Economics and Management, SAU Professor Wenkuan Chen, the deputy-Dean Professor Yuansheng Jiang, vice-Director of the Postgraduate Office Professor Xiumin Wu and associates attended those meetings. Meetings were hosted by Professor Yuansheng Jiang.


During those meetings, two parties had in-depth discussion with regard to the future exchange and collaborations. Two parties exchanged opinions in relation to working together under the umbrella of the food security research institute in Nottingham; academic and researches, which include joint projects/researches topics, exchange visits for academies staffs; education administrations, which involve giving lectures on a periodic basis, student exchange and training for teaching staffs; and agri-food industry’s operational management and analysis. At the end of those meetings, several indented agreements have been reached between the two parties.
